Executive Director Stephanie Nilva shared how an order of protection works and how it can help a person in an abusive relationship.

 

"Statistically, orders of protection [a court order that can prevent an abuser from contacting you, coming near you, assaulting, or harassing you] are effective, and in many states you can get one without people like your parents or friends knowing."
