Keeping it Real with Ms. Shannon

Peer Leadership Coordinator Joy Marie Conway and Youth Voices Network Coordinator Jean Sung sat down in January with Lottie Dobson Shannon, host and producer of talk show "Keepin' it Real with Ms. Shannon" to discuss the problem of dating abuse. The show airs on Brooklyn Community Access Television and the Manhattan Neighborhood Network and reflects on a wide variety of topics, such as Education, Police Brutality, Domestic Violence, Challenges Facing Young Black Males, Relationships, etc. Ms. Shannon entertains her audience with R & B, Jazz, Gospel and Contemporary Singing.

On December 23, 2010, The Queens Ledger profiled Day One's own Community Educator, Claudia Martinez, to highlight her work with youth as a social justice advocate and community organizer, as well as her achievements with Day One - educating thousands of youth each year about the dangers of dating violence and opportunities for prevention.
