Day One is proud to announce expanded services for youth! With a new grant funded by the Office on Violence Against Women, Day One will add the support and services of a clinical social worker. Our social worker will allow us to provide more holistic and well-rounded services to clients by coordinating the Safety & Advocacy for Young Survivors ("SAYS") Project.
Project SAYS will build on our already interdisciplinary program by offering crisis intervention, counseling and case management in addition to our legal services at a single site. We will provide young people with access to information and guidance related to intimate partner violence (IPV) by offering immediate responses to inquiries via a toll free helpline, internet "chat" and text messaging.
The project will also incorporate special outreach to LGBTQ youth through a partnership with the Ali Forney Center and The Anti-Violence Project.
