Day One would like to thank all of our donors, supporters and honorees in helping make our 2010 Benefit to End Dating Violence Among Youth the most successful to date. Hundreds of guests filled the Skylight Ballroom at The Puck Building in downtown Manhattan on September 21, demonstrating their commitment to make New York City a safer place for teens.
We are proud to have had MSNBC Live anchor Tamron Hall host the evening program for the second year in a row. Manhattan Borough President Scott M. Stringer presented this year's Visionary Award to New York County District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance, Jr. for his innovative work focusing on digital abuse and stalking. Youth Leadership Award recipients Karin and Christina moved the audience with their compelling stories of hope and survival in the face of abuse, testifying to the absolute necessity of services like Day One.
The benefit raised a record-breaking sum of $210,000 that will allow Day One to expand its work protecting New York City youth from the peril of dating violence.
