Upcoming Awareness Project for Youth

The Youth Voices Network is hosting its 2nd annual teen writing contest. High School students throughout New York City are invited to submit creative writing portraying health relationships. This year's writing topic is "Re-imagine a fairytale featuring a healthy relationship set in New York City." Winners of the contest will be awarded gift certificates and will read the work publicly at an event in the early spring 2010. For information, contact YVNwritingcontest@gmail.com.

In April 2009, Day One helped organize the first New York City conference to address Teen Dating Violence in over ten years. Planning is underway for the 2010 conference for youth and adults, which will feature workshops exploring relationship dynamics and safe behaviors, as well as youth perspectives on love and healthy partnerships.
