You are not required to provide information, such as your name, address, email address, telephone number, or other information, that might reasonably be used to identify you personally ("Personal Information") to make use of this Site. Day One will only collect Personal Information when it is provided in an email, on a comment form, in an online survey, when requesting information, or in other similar transmissions.
To help monitor Site usage patterns and to help improve this Site, Day One may use certain technologies, including cookies, to gather information that does not reveal your identity ("Generic Information"), such as information about the Internet Protocol address ("IP Address") assigned to your computer, the browser type you are using, your internet service provider ("ISP"), your platform type, the date/time you visited the Site, the number and frequency of visits, time spent visiting the Site, usage patterns within the Site, referring/exit websites and the web pages visited. This information is not matched to your personal information and does not personally identify you. Day One does not share Personal Information Day One collects with third parties for their marketing purposes. Day One may share Personal Information or Generic Information when Day One believes it is necessary to comply with the law, court order, to protect our interests or property or to protect against misuse or unauthorized use of the Site and/or any service offered therein and you hereby agree to such disclosure. This may include sharing information with other companies, lawyers or government agencies in connection with investigating reports of users using a false email address or users sending harassing, threatening, or abusive messages or other issues related to fraud or government subpoenas, warrants and/or court orders.
Day One may share Generic Information collected with our affiliates, contractors and other third parties to improve the Site and or services offered thereunder.
You may choose to opt out of receiving e-mail messages with news and information about Day One and Day One publications by sending an email from the e-mail address at which you are receiving the messages to firstname.lastname@example.org, requesting that your email address be removed.
Unfortunately, data transmission over the Internet cannot be guaranteed to be secure nor is any security system completely secure. Day One does not guarantee the security of any information you transmit to Day One or provide online. Day One requests that you do not send, and Day One will not be liable for your sending sensitive or confidential information electronically.
Children Under 13
This Site is not directed at children 13 years of age or younger. Day One will not intentionally collect information about any user under the age of 13.

This Site may provide links to third party websites. Even if the third party is affiliated with Day One through a business partnership or otherwise, Day One is not responsible for the privacy policies or practices or the content of such external websites.
