Alethea Best, LMSW

RAPP Coordinator

As a Relationship Abuse Prevention Program (RAPP) Coordinator, Alethea joined Day One in 2016 to provide relationship abuse prevention and education at a NYC high school.

Alethea earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Hofstra University and earned her Master in Social Work from Adelphi University School for Social Work, where her zest for working with adolescents and young adults and engaging in youth development work started and has continued throughout her career.

As a licensed social worker, Alethea believes in and is striving for providing adolescents and young adults with unlimited access to resources and information that support their growth and development. Her career thus far has entailed assisting and empowering adolescents and young adults navigate systems, discuss challenging topics and ideals, connecting youth to various resources and activities, teaching skills and providing knowledge on how to function and navigate their experiences in society. Alethea is working towards ensuring that all young people she encounters have a sense of resiliency, self-reliance and the self-confidence required to succeed in the world we live in.
