Peer Leadership
Day One’s Peer Leadership Program mobilizes youth to raise awareness of domestic violence in their communities. Through projects designed and developed by the students themselves, the Peer Leadership Program enables young people to become leaders in the movement to end domestic violence by training them to advocate, educate their peers about relationship abuse and learn about resources in their communities. Day One organizes young people on local campuses to develop self-sustaining student groups that raise awareness of relationship violence among college-age youth, develop campus-based resources and design student-led activities to educate others about dating abuse and domestic violence. By targeting a wide-range of campus associations and groups, Day One publicizes resources for individuals in need and reduces the overall tolerance for violence on campus.
